News and Views

It is clear - Canada is rapidly evolving due to ongoing revolution with technology - based primarily on Internet, computers, communications and... proximity to USA.  Because around 80% of all Canadian trade (import/export) is with US, our economies evolve in very similar manner.  Obviously, US influence on Canada is about 10 times stronger then the other way around, since United States as a country (size of population and economy) is about 10 times bigger.

Keeping that in mind... let's see what's new in Canada, based on leading sources of news:
(since those sources are powerful information portals, you will find all types of news there: economy, lifestyles, politics, weather etc.- feel free to surf)

 * Yahoo Canada news - not only search engine, Yahoo has the broad grasp. If you are looking for any other info- with right search phrase- you can find it.
 * Globe and Mail- old Canadian national newspaper, now became strong information portal, traditionally oriented to business people and professionals.
 * National Post - new national newspaper- also associated with Canada.com - oriented to business people and professionals.
 * Toronto Star- regional newspaper one of the biggest in Canada, also running Toronto.com,  and please note: Greater Toronto Area- is Canada's largest urban conglomerate, over a quarter of all our population, probably third biggest business center in North America- after New York and Los-Angeles areas.
 * Toronto Sun - traditionally oriented to working people.
 * Canoe.ca Canadian news portal
 * Chapters - popular Canadian mega book-seller, pushed to innovate (at least in part) by Amazon.com's competitive pressure.  Book-lovers can find anything there- or on any subject - in printed format.  Also added to their selections was music (CDs etc), coffee shops opened in many locations.  Practically speaking - it's hard to justify going back to somewhat outdated bookshelves of public libraries when you can read all the premium content right at the stores - and for the cost of lost time on trip to return books to library- you can simply purchase books at stores and own them forever... or better yet: use the internet to enrich yourself, especially that most of you (abroad) can not immediately get to those beautiful bookstores in Canada.

In general - there are millions of Canadian pages and sites on the internet. We presented to you those news sources that are popular and reputable
